Greeting Indie Horror fans! ‘Tis the season that we all enjoy, October is here and Halloween is just around the corner! And with the season comes some good news.
I’ve teamed up with a crazy stats programmer (who is actually one of my coworkers) who will be helping me build a recommendation engine for the site. Think Netflix but for indie fiction. You rate books and as it learns what you like, it will be able to recommend other indie books for you.
Here’s where you come in!
In order for the recommendation system to work, I need it to learn what makes different indie fiction unique. Aka, I need awesome indie authors like you to send me your finished books so it can learn who you are and recommend your books to people.
Here’s how to participate:
Gather up all of your completed Indie fiction, even if it’s not Horror. Then send them to readindieproject@indiehorror.org as PDF or text files. Be sure to include:
1. Your books!
2. Your name and a link to your website if you have one.
3. The genre for each one of your books.
Your books will not be given to anyone, we only need them to do some crazy data analysis. We will contact you once the engine is finished to fill you in on more details.
Email readindieproject@indiehorror.org if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Matt
